Matching wood flooring with existing wood floors. I have wood floors in my kitchen and breakfast?
Area, and I want to Buy raw unfinished oak, and then they have sanded and stained the same. Is that possible? Where is the best place to buy in the Kansas City area?
We've found it very difficult to meet new oak exactly the same color as the existing soil. New wood will always look different than experienced floors, on the for a while. Well, if this is a separate room and the floors do not meet in the middle of a room you should be well. Only a sampling of the unfinished Oak and a few spots, you might start thinking the same. Make as many tryout patches and even mix up the stain, you will be satisfied with the color. Remember at least one layer of polyurethane on the tryout piece to get on the final color. Intensify all colors and stains, if the poly is applied. We found another (very labor intensive, but nice) technology for the integration of old and new. Having a wall that we are half a room with old leaves and a half and nothing had (we had the ground pulled the second half because it is not) a game. First, we have tried to buy new oak and match the stain – no way. So we have carefully pulled the old oak tree, cleaned it and set it aside. Then we bought new oak – same size, same type and put a mixture of old and new again below. Sanded and then polyurethane. It looks great! The colors vary from very dark to very light. It is one of the most magnificent looking floors I've ever seen. And we were in able to save a ton of our old ground. How to Buy Places to … I'm not local to Kansas City, but in my area I found that the cheapest place buy unfinished oak hardwood, was good old Home Depot. Hope this helps!
